The Color of Madness features a new region called The Farmstead, where what appears to be a comet has crashed. Red Hook Studios has announced the next round of DLC for its turn-based RPG Darkest Dungeon. But if you do include Crimson Court in your game, its a separate location that you progress through at the same time you progress through the main game.A comet has crashed on The Farmstead in Darkest Dungeon, and it's caused a massive mess of things. The reason people say to initially ignore Crimson Court is because it adds another mechanic that is very difficult to manage if you don't understand it (IMHO). Color of Madness gives you an endless wave mode where you can earn special trinkets and its up to you whether you feel like using it in your playthrough. Then I will try it on the highest difficulty with it turned on and see how it goes. I beat the game on the mid tier difficulty w/o Crimson Court and am going to replay it again with Crimson Court. That and the 3 difficulty levels make it really easy to tailor how you want to play. When you start your playthrough, you have the option of selecting which DLC or Workshop items you wish to use in that playthrough. You can still purchase all the DLC which I highly recommend. Like he said above, ignore Crimson Court for your first time through.
